When we joined this new agency, Joan personally reviewed all of our State Farm policies and updated all new information pertaining to these policies. Once everything was submitted, Joan’s office has contacted us several times to make sure there have been no problems with the changes that were made. "On May 1st I was sold a policy that was to start on May 4th with (included, paid for) roadside service. Granted it took 3 days for the policy to start (e.g., systems and processing). However, what State Farm doesn't tell you, is the underwriting of the policy is completed whenever they feel like it. Meaning, customers WILL PAY OUT-OF-POCKET expenses regardless of what the declaration page states, ID cards reflect, or the policy details giving during the sales process. I was informed after needing the (included, i.e., automatically paid reimbursement) roadside service "benefit" that it's only available AFTER the policy clears something in the back office (no timeline provided). The worst part of this is experience was speaking with the company's licensed agent Joan Warner. After submitting the roadside service claim and speaking with three different roadside service agents (an awesome supervisor named Rosemary), I emailed the sales agent Victoria to get clarifying information. Joan calls me in return. When I explain the current situation, Joan attempted to debate with the details provided on a call she did not take. Joan asked several questions, but denied the opportunity for completed responses. A dismissal had occurred. When I brought up what was offered in my sales exchange, the 3 day wait, and the fact that I'd paid for a policy with certain benefits -- accusations were thrown. For example, I shouldn't by a policy just for a battery replacement (mind you, the policy was purchased 5 days ago. Who in the hell is waiting 5 days to get on the road?). Also, that I only knew the description of roadside service, but not what it actually was or meant (as is pertains to my policy). Lastly, that I couldn't have heard Victoria correctly explain the details of the policy, because she'd never state that there's immediate roadside service (which in fact, is false by Joan's argumentative reiteration of indeed having immediate roadside service [just not IMMEDIATE PAID REIMBURSEMENT]). Topping it all off with "you can't just use a credit card" to get the service, and we'll cut you a reimbursement check today? Que? Does Joan know all her customers financial situation, to make that kind of statement? That's some audacity for you. This didn't make sense. If a customer purchased a policy with a agency, who can verify the policy, most importantly the payment for said policy, and reimburse same day for roadside service, why isn't the agency just billed? If for some reason the policy is rejected/changed/denied, THEN charge the customer for the completed roadside service. Otherwise, State Farm isn't clearly stating how the policy works, and ways it will impact customers. #poorServiceandClarity"
